The weekend is ending so it’s time to unwind with some premieres tonight.
8/7c – VH1 – Rehab With Dr. Drew – Season 6 Premiere. This season instead of focusing on celebrities, Dr. Drew is going to take on everyday young adults who are going through the rehabilitation process. From heartbreak to hope, you will see Dr. Drew and his patients on their difficult and deeply emotional journey to sobriety.

9/8c – VH1 – Behind The Music – Season 15 premiere. The music documentary series returns with a season that premieres with the behind the scenes story of the group Train. I won’t watch this episode as I don’t really like Train — at least not since Drops of Jupiter. But I shall be checking out the other artists they will be featuring for the rest of the season like Ne-Yo, Gym Class Heroes, Toni Braxton, T.I. (updated), P!nk (updated) and Carrie Underwood. Nicole Scherzinger will also be featured but I won’t watch that one as I don’t like her.

9/8c – HBO – Boardwalk Empire – Season 3 premiere. The premiere is set more than a year after the events of the finale. Nucky is feeling some emotional conflicts with killing his former protegé. Despite this conflict, he refuses to slow down in business. He is going all out to fight his new rival, Gyp Rosetti played by Bobby Cannavale (Will & Grace, Third Watch), who challenges the corrupt politician for control of the bootleg business.

10/9c – Weeds – Showtime – This isn’t a premiere but it’s the series finale of the show. A show that has had more drama and laughs than a lot of other shows. There have been a lot of ups and downs for Nancy Botwin and her crazy crew and I’m sad to see them go. I hope the show goes out strong and with some resolution.

The American Music Awards aired last night on ABC and it was a performance heavy show with few awards given. This is what all award shows should do. give out a few awards but let it be mostly performances and montages for the rest of the show to keep the fast pace going. Nicki Minaj opened the show with David Guetta singing their song, “Turn Me On.” Nicki did a lot of singing. There is like one line of rapping in this song and its terrible. Why is Nicki singing? Her voice was ok I guess for a rapper but I need these rappers to stop singing if they ey are not singers. She then transition into her hit song “Super Bass.”
