Women and minority TV directors made modest gains during the 2015-16 season, according to the latest report from the Directors Guild, even though 10% of all episodic TV shows employed no women or minority directors at all. Women directed 17% of all episodes, which the DGA called a “small” increase from 16% the prior year.…
So it’s been a while since I posted here but life happened. But I’m back with some exciting news. As you know I love to talk television with everyone so I have decided that I am going to start a little podcast to do just that. Hear all about it below.

The cast of Gilmore Girls got together today at the ATX Television Festival for a look back at the beloved Stars Hollow for the 15-year anniversary of the show (My gosh I’m old). It was so great to see them all together. Yay to ATX for pulling this off. This fest is definitely on my list for next year.
The CW always last on the schedule doesn’t have much coming this 2015-2016 season. They have had a pretty great year renewing everything except Hart of Dixie and The Messengers (which absolutely no one watched). They have picked up only 3 shows from their development slate, 1 for the Fall and 2 coming at midseason. I still think Super Girl (picked up for CBS) should be theirs but I’ll reserve judgment after I watch that pilot. They also moved a couple of their returning shows to new nights giving Julie Plec a night of her own with her shows, The Vampire Diaries and The Originals (which I thought should have been put together from the moment The Originals spinoff was a go but what do I know).
Next up to bat is ABC. There weren’t many surprises in the schedule as they have a pretty stable crop of returning shows with only a few cancellations.
Happy Holidays everyone. It’s the time of year when families have holiday decorations out and the temperature drops a little too much for my liking. It’s also the time of year when there is nothing on TV and all your favorite shows take a winter hiatus (Perfect time to catch up on stuff you haven’t seen). On the bright side, many shows are returning from hiatus or premiering as early as the first day of the new year. With that being said, I have put together a nice little guide to all the return and premiere dates of your favorite shows and soon to be favorites. The guide is will be updated when new dates are announced so be sure to come back and check on your show if it’s not there.
Check out the trailer for the new Crackle original series, Sequestered starring Jesse Bradford (Bring It On, Swimfan), Summer Glau (Firefly, Serenity), and Patrick Warburton (Seinfeld, Rules of Engagement). It’s about a jury sequestered in a hotel while deliberating a kidnapping/murder court case with lots of blackmail, corruption and intrigue. Danny Firmin (Bradford), a young attorney with a promising career, begins to uncover a major conspiracy behind his big case defending the alleged murderer of Governor Mark Bennett’s (Warburton) 8-year-old son. Sequestered juror Anna (Glau) is forced to choose between her beliefs and the safety of her family while deliberating the fate of a potentially innocent man. Surprising alliances form, sparking tensions and testing morals as Anna puts her life on the line to expose the conspiracy and find true justice for all involved. It looks like it’s going to be pretty good and who doesn’t love Summer Glau. It premieres August 5th on crackle.com.
