Trailers Galore: The Wolverine

A new trailer for the movie The Wolverine came out this week and it’s all kinds of wonderful and by wonderful I mean lots of brooding shirtless Hugh Jackman scenes. God that man is beautiful. Oh yeah the action looks pretty awesome too. See for yourself.

The Wolverine hits theaters July 26, 2013.

Trailers Galore: The Best Man Holiday

Fifteen years after The Best Man was released to the masses and became a classic movie, we are getting a sequel. The Best Man Holiday brings the crew back together during the holidays. We will catch up with them and find out where they are in their lives since the last movie as well see how those old rivalries and romances can start back up again when everyone gets back together.

The Best Man Holiday (who came up with this title. It’s quite terrible) hits theaters November 15, 2013.

Fall Movies I Can’t Wait For

Fall is here!!! Leaves are falling, the weather is cooler, the boots and jackets have started to come out.Ok it’s been here for a while now but I’ve been so obsessed with tv lately that I forgot all about the movies that are coming this fall that I want to see.

Martha Marcy May Marlene

Elizabeth Olsen stars as Martha, a young lady that escapes from an abusive cult led by a charismatic leader Patrick (John Hawkes;Winter’s Bone, Contagion). After being missing for sometime, she returns home and tries to assimilate back into her family. She begins to have a difficult time when she becomes haunted by the memories of her time with the cult and becomes increasingly paranoid with the belief that the cult is watching her every move. This movie looks so good. From the trailer alone it looks like the cast is great, the story is intriguing and its going to definitely be an Oscar contender.

Moneyball

Moneyball is the new movie staring Brad Pitt, Johan Hill, Phillip Seymour Hoffman and a whole lot of other people.  I saw this movie last night and didn’t even know it was about baseball (I clearly didn’t pay attention to the trailer). I’m not really a fan of the sport but I’ll say this movie was a good one.  Its about this guy named Billy Beane, played by Brad Pitt, who is the general manager of the Oakland Athletics, which was one of the poorest teams in baseball.  They didn’t have deep pockets and therefore couldn’t afford star players like the Yankees and other top teams could.  The movie is the story of how he tried to get turn his cheap team into a winning one  using an unconventional method with the help of Peter Brand, played by Jonah Hill.

I haven’t really liked a movie with Brad Pitt since Inglorious Basterds. Granted I haven’t seen the last movie he was in, Tree of Life, but that movie just didn’t make me want to see it and you know I’ll watch anything. The movie had a kind of Jerry Maguire feel to it but not much.  The movie is written by Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing, Social Network) and its got a nice cast with some good acting and a couple of good laughs. What else can you ask for in a movie.
