Gosh I love this season. Here is what is premiering tonight.
8/7c – FOX – Bones – Season 8 Premiere. Having been accused of murder, Brennan (Emily Deschanel) is on the run from the FBI, with help from her father Max (Ryan O’Neal). Booth (David Boreanaz) and the Jeffersonian team are convinced evil tech genius Christopher Pelant (Andrew Leeds) has manipulated key evidence in the case to pinpoint Brennan as the prime suspect. Then, an anonymous tip leads the team to the remains of a high school guidance counselor that may hold the key to proving Brennan’s innocence.
9/8c – FOX – The Mob Doctor – Series Premiere. Dr. Grace Devlin (Jordana Spiro; My Boys), a top resident at Chicago’s Roosevelt Medical Center who is indebted to the mafia, saving lives isn’t her only concern. In this fast-paced medical drama, Dr. Devlin is faced with the intense demands of being a surgeon and working “off book” for the mafia men she once despised. As she tries to heed the demands of these two conflicting worlds, the former head of the Southside mob, Constantine Alexander (William Forsythe; Boardwalk Empire), stands by her, while her boss at Roosevelt Medical and Chief of Surgery, Dr. Stafford White (Zeljko Ivanek; Damages, The Event), and her blue-blooded boyfriend (Zach Gilford; Friday Night Lights) remain unaware of her “other” life, and the moral dilemma in which she finds herself. I don’t have any feelings about this show really. We’ll see if this is any good. I’ll give it my requisite 3 episodes to hook me.
10/9c – LOGO – Be Good Johnny Weir – Season 2 Premiere. This season goes beyond the ice rink and dive deeper into Johnny’s work and personal life as he balances his immense drive for the ultimate prize in the skating world with his growing ambition to branch out into various entertainment endeavors. Never a stranger to taking big risks to win big, Johnny makes a foray into the music business with his first single, publishes a book, dabbles in a fashion line and works to launch his own ice show spectacular. With the support of his long-time manager, coach and friends, Johnny learns that sometimes even the most driven superstar will face hiccups on the road to success. Viewers will also be privy to a never-before-seen private side of Johnny as he meets the love of his life and navigates the pressures of nurturing a budding romance while facing the pressures of celebrity.
10/9c – NBC – Revolution – Series Premiere. This show is about a family that struggles to reunite in an American landscape void of electricity: a world of empty cities, local militias and heroic freedom fighters, where every single piece of technology — computers, planes, cars, phones, even lights — has mysteriously blacked out forever. The show is from executive producer, J.J Abrams (Mission Impossible III, Alias), whom I love and has done some of my favorite shows and movies. This show is looking to be the next Lost. We’ll see how this is. I am tired of shows trying to be the next Lost. I mean if it’s good it will be good and if not then it’ll be cancelled. Sadly it’s on NBC and threat of cancellation is a lot more than on another network.
