71st Annual Golden Globe Awards

The 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards aired last night on NBC with hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. I enjoyed last night’s show. Tina and Amy are just sooo good together and should host everything.

Some of the best moments came from unexpected places (Emma Thompson drunk and throwing her shoes on stage) or took place on Twitter (Mia and Ronan Farrow’s tweets on Woody Allen during his tribute). There were also some surprises in the awards winners like Brooklyn Nine-Nine winning best comedy (YAY!!!) to Jennifer Lawrence winning best supporting actress in a motion picture (Noooooo, I love Jennifer Lawerence but Lupita Nyong’o was robbed!!). The only other surprise for me was Amy Adams win in the best actress motion picture comedy musical category. I was sure Meryl Streep was going to take that.  Here is the full list of winners as well as some of the best moments in Gif form across the interwebs.

“Tina and Amy are two of the most talented comedic writer/performers in our business and they were a major reason the Golden Globes was the most entertaining awards show of last season,” said NBC’s alternative programming president Paul Telegdy in a statement. “We’re elated they wanted to host together again and that they committed for the next two years.”

Last year’s Fey/Poehler-hosted show attracted nearly 20 million viewers, a 17 percent surge vs. 2012 (the increase among adults 18-49 was 28 percent).

The 2014 Globes ceremony is set to air on Sunday, Jan. 12 on NBC.
