A ton of trailers for different movies and shows came out in the past few days. Here are some of the big ones.
Tom Cruise in the musical Rock of Ages
The movie has a whole hell of a lot of people in it from Mary J Blige, Julianne Hough, Alec Baldwin to Russell Brand, Paul Giamatti and Malin Akerman. Its just looks like a huge disaster and I’m not sure how this is going to pan out especially with Julianne Hough in the mix. She’s just such a bad actress. See for yourself.
Rock of Ages opens June 15, 2012.
True Blood Teaser Clip
The residents of Bon Temps will be returning this summer and in order to whet your appetites before the premiere, HBO sent out this teaser clip. It looks even crazier than last season’s and last season was nuts. Hopefully it be a great one since it’ll be Alan Ball’s last one as showrunner.
Season 5 of True Blood premieres June 2012 on HBO
Whitney Houston’s Final Performance in Sparkle
Sparkle is a remake of the 1976 film of the same name about a singing group made up of sisters. It is inspired by the Supremes like most of these movies are. Basically it’s Dream Girls but instead of friends singing together it’s family. The trailer looked pretty good. The cast looks good. Love Derek Luke (Antwone Fisher, Friday Night Lights). I feel like he should be bigger than he is. He’s a pretty good actor. Maybe one day. The movie also stars Whitney Houston in her last performance. She looks pretty good in it. I feel like the role she was given is pretty much speaking about her own life. The rest of the cast includes Jordan Sparks, in her first film role, Mike Epps, Cee Lo Green and Tika Sumpter.
Sparkle opens August 17, 2012.
Josh Hutcherson in 7 Days In Havana
I guess because Hutcherson is everywhere now they are promoting all the movies he’s in, which I am not mad at. He’s pretty good actor. This movie is set during a week in the Havana and features a segment for each day. Each segment features a different director. The segment that Hutcherson is featured in is directed by Benicio Del Toro. Looks pretty interesting.
No release US release date set yet.
Woody Allen’s To Rome With Love
It looks like every other Woody Allen movie. This movie looks like Midnight in Paris but set in Rome. I thought Midnight in Paris was ok but this one looks pretty good. He has gathered up a crazy good cast for this one. Check out it out.
To Rome With Love opens June 22, 2012.
Teaser Trailer for Veep
Julia Louis-Dreyfus returns to tv with this new HBO comedy playing the vice president of the United States. The show explores just how the vice president is the 2nd most powerful person but because number 1 is there, the office becomes an highly ineffectual.
Veep premieres April 22, 2012 on HBO.
Mark Wahlberg and Seth MacFarlene in Ted
Seth MacFarlene writes and directs Ted, a movie about a grown man who has to deal with his childhood bear that came to life and won’t leave his side. MacFarlene plays the voice of Ted and Mila Kunis stars as Wahlburg’s girlfriend. This is the red band trailer so its definitely NSFW (not safe for work).
Ted opens July 13, 2012.
New Full Length Trailer of Aaron Sorkin’s The Newsroom
Yes a new Aaron Sorkin show. This one looks like The West Wing but in the television newsroom. I didn’t watch a lot of The West Wing but what I did watch was so great. This looks just as good. The cast looks really great. I am going to be all over this one.
The Newsroom premieres on HBO June 24, 2012.
