What To Watch: September 30


YESSSSSSSSS!!! The best night of television is here. WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Sunday night television has the best shows of any night of the week. Here are the ones premiering tonight.

7/6c – CBS – 60 Minutes – Season 45 Premiere.Lara Logan talks to Afghanistan president Hamid Karzia and General John Allen about the  attacks by Afghan troops. Also Arnold Schwarzenegger talks about his new memoir and marriage.

8/7c – CBS – The Amazing Race – Season 21 Premiere. There is a new twist to the game that will raise the stakes for the entire season. If the Team that wins the first leg of the season can outrace the other 10 Teams and win the final leg of the Race, they will double their money and win a $2 million grand prize instead of $1 million. Teams will travel through three continents, nine countries and cover more than 25,000 miles, where they’ll be faced with a 10-story rappel in Los Angeles, frying an egg on their heads in Indonesia, working as “rat collectors” in Bangladesh and revisiting one of the Race’s most infamous Roadblocks in the Netherlands in this season’s “Switchback.” This season’s cast includes a pair of Chippendales dancers, married monster truckers, a world champion lumberjack, a double amputee professional snowboarder and Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Brent Ridge.

8/7c – FOX – The Simpsons – Season 24 Premiere. Bart and the family head to New York City, where he hopes to reconnect with the lost love of his life, Mary Spuckler, who left her hillbilly clan in Springfield for the bright lights of the Big Apple. Meanwhile, Marge and Lisa are hoping to score tickets for Broadway plays, but when they realize they don’t have the dough, they settle for a “Shakespeare in the Park” freebie that turns into a midsummer night’s nightmare.

8/7c – ABC – Once Upon A Time – Season 2 Premiere. The fairytale characters awaken from Evil Queen Regina’s broken curse and remember who they were. But to their dismay, they aren’t transported back to fairytale land. To make matters worse, Rumplestiltskin – aka Mr. Gold – in an effort to gain the upper hand in his power struggle with Regina, has introduced magic into the town. Meanwhile, back in the fairytale land, Prince Phillip awakens his sleeping beauty, Aurora, but discovers that he and his traveling companion, Mulan will soon have to face a deadly foe.

8:30/7:30c – FOX – Bob’s Burgers – Season 3 Premiere. A biker gang hangs out at Bob’s Burgers as they mourn the loss of their beloved leader “Horny Dave.” Meanwhile, Louise has an identity crisis when her bunny ears are stolen and everyone – including the biker gang – rallies around her.

9/8c – SHOWTIME – Dexter – Season 7 Premiere. Deb tries to cover up involvement in Travis’ murder; Detective Mike Anderson has an unfortunate run-in; Quinn and Batista make amends; LaGuerta rethinks the Bay Harbor Butcher case.

9/8c – FOX – Family Guy – Season 11 Premiere. the Griffins decide to climb Mount Everest after their competitive family friends announce their ambitious plans to hike the legendary mountain. However, things go awry when the Griffins get stuck on the mountainside in the middle of a massive storm.

9/8c – CBS – The Good Wife – Season 4 Premiere. Alicia goes on the offensive when Zach is targeted by an overzealous state trooper. Meanwhile, after her ex-husband tracked her down in last season’s finale, Kalinda decides to stand her ground rather than continue hiding, and Diane and Will delve into the firm’s financial problems.

9/8c – ABC – Revenge – Season 2 Premiere. In the wake of last summer’s events in the Hamptons and with the ante even higher, what will Emily’s next move be? Will she be able to manage her heart and keep her emotions from getting in the way of her resolve to avenge her father?

9:30/8:30c – FOX – American Dad – Season 8 Premiere. When Roger hires Hayley as a singer in his new bar, he becomes enthralled by her voice; Stan tries to prove his masculinity by negotiating a good deal on a new car.

10/9c – SHOWTIME – Homeland – Season 2 Premiere. A former asset threatens Carrie’s peace; Brody learns Nazir may not be happy with a nonviolent approach; Dana lets a secret slip.

10/9c –  CBS – The Mentalist – Season 5 Premiere. What would you do to have everything you desire? Step inside “666 Park Avenue,” New York’s most seductive address. We all have some burning need, desire and ambition. For the residents of The Drake, the premier apartment building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, these will all be met – for a price – courtesy of the building’s mysterious owner, Gavin Doran. But be careful what you wish for, because the price you may pay is your soul.

10/9c – ABC – 666 Park Avenue – Series Premiere. While Jane tries to decipher Lorelei’s connection to Red John, the CBI team is forced to partner with the FBI to solve the murder of a hotel employee.
