LOOSELY EXACTLY NICOLE (S1) – MTV (Comedy)

Semi-autobiographical series about comedienne Nicole Byer and living the Hollywood dream. Well, Hollywood adjacent – the deep valley to be precise – and it’s not so much a dream but a struggle. Nicole, exuding her special brand of confidence and irreverence, will demonstrate the hilarious missteps of what it means to be out on your own for the first time. With the help of her two besties, Veronica and Devin, Nicole will have to navigate the “real world” as she endures humiliating auditions, unpaid electric bills and the romantic battlefield that is Tinder, all while slowly, but surely, finding her voice as a comedian.

Premiere of OWN’s New Original Drama Series ‘Greenleaf’ Shatters Network’s Ratings Records – Shadow and Act

Big numbers for Greenleaf. The premiere was the number two cable original of the night behind the season premiere of OWN’s The Haves And Have Nots. It’s also the second highest premiere on the year behind FX’s American Crime. This just shows that if you build it, they will come. All these networks that are gun shy about having diverse people in front and behind the camera need to wake up because there is an audience hungry for it.

Starz Releases Survivor’s Remorse Season 2 Promo

Starz released the first promo for season 2 of their summer hit, Survivor’s Remorse. The show premiered last summer with a 6-episode season that was surprisingly funny. The show is a comedy executive produced by Lebron James about young basketball superstar Cam Calloway (Jesse T. Usher), who just signed a multi-million dollar NBA deal with a team in Atlanta. His move to Atlanta brings along his manager cousin, Reggie (RonReaco Lee) and his wife Missy (Teyonah Parris), his crazy but loyal sister M-Chuck (Erica Ash), his very inappropriate Uncle Julius (Mike Epps) and his overbearing mother, Cassie (Tichina Arnold). The family must now figure out a way to deal with the perks and the trials that come with sudden fame and fortune.

The show is really easy to digest and just something that is light, fun and doesn’t take itself too seriously. The new season will start August 22 for a 10 episode run. Be sure to catch the first season on Starz before Season 2 starts.

‘Empire’ Season 2 Premiere Date Announced

Empire’s Season 2 premiere date has been announced. The writers announced the show would return September 23rd for an 18-episode season. The new season will be a split one like many other shows have started to do with some episodes playing in the fall and the rest returning in the spring. If you haven’t watched the show or just want to rewatch before the new season starts, catch it on Hulu.

UPDATED: 2015 Midseason TV Premieres – Dates For New And Returning Shows

Happy Holidays everyone. It’s the time of year when families have holiday decorations out and the temperature drops a little too much for my liking. It’s also the time of year when there is nothing on TV and all your favorite shows take a winter hiatus (Perfect time to catch up on stuff you haven’t seen). On the bright side, many shows are returning from hiatus or premiering as early as the first day of the new year. With that being said, I have put together a nice little guide to all the return and premiere dates of your favorite shows and soon to be favorites. The guide is will be updated when new dates are announced so be sure to come back and check on your show if it’s not there.

NEW SHOW ALERT: SEQUESTERED

Check out the trailer for the new Crackle original series, Sequestered starring Jesse Bradford (Bring It On, Swimfan), Summer Glau (Firefly, Serenity), and Patrick Warburton (Seinfeld, Rules of Engagement). It’s about a jury sequestered in a hotel while deliberating a kidnapping/murder court case with lots of blackmail, corruption and intrigue. Danny Firmin (Bradford), a young attorney with a promising career, begins to uncover a major conspiracy behind his big case defending the alleged murderer of Governor Mark Bennett’s (Warburton) 8-year-old son. Sequestered juror Anna (Glau) is forced to choose between her beliefs and the safety of her family while deliberating the fate of a potentially innocent man. Surprising alliances form, sparking tensions and testing morals as Anna puts her life on the line to expose the conspiracy and find true justice for all involved.  It looks like it’s going to be pretty good and who doesn’t love Summer Glau. It premieres August 5th on crackle.com.
