Season Finale Wednesday 5/23/12

The Middle – ABC 8/7c – Season 3 finale. Mike’s brother, Rusty (Norm Macdonald), invites the Hecks to his wedding, but lists their address as the location of the ceremony; Brick isn’t allowed to go to a party that falls on the same day of the wedding.

American Idol – FOX 8/7c – Season 11 finale. A season of amazing talent boiled down to this night. Who will be the next American Idol? Will it be the musical artist, Philip Phillips or the big voice, Jessica Sanchez? Last season’s winner, Scotty McCreery and Rihanna perform. This might also be judge Jennifer Lopez’s last episode as she is trying to decide if she wants to stay on any longer. I’m sure she will because they’ll throw a ton more buckets of money at her to keep her on the show.

Modern Family – ABC 9/8c – Season 3 finale. While Gloria helps Cam and Mitch pursue an adoption opportunity, Jay and Manny baby-sit Lily; Alex attends her first prom; Haley makes a shocking announcement about her plans for the future. This season has been a mixed bag of nuts. There have been some great episodes and then some lackluster ones but regardless of all that it’s still one of the best comedies on tv.

Don’t Trust The B- In Apartment 23 – ABC 9:30/8:30c – Season 1 finale. June tries to keep up with Chloe and her party lifestyle; James loses it when he finds out that Dean Cain has a bigger dressing room than he has. I like this show. It did get better than the pilot. It’s still not better than Happy Endings but I’m ok with that.

Revenge – ABC 10/9c – Season 1 finale. With the end in sight, Emily fearlessly pushes forward, closing in on the final phases of her plan for revenge, while the Graysons continue their downward spiral into the rabbit hole of self-destruction. But a big, explosive event leaves much hanging in the balance, courses are altered and even more is left in question. For all the stops and breaks that this show took, this finale better be the best one EVER. No matter what, I’ll still be back for next season.

Law And Order: SVU – NBC 10/9c – Season 13 finale. The team must go with caution when an underage escort is found dead at a wild bachelor party with high-profile people in attendance; Brian Cassidy (Dean Winters), a former SVU detective who is working under, helps Benson and Amaro investigate. I haven’t watched this show at all this season since Stabler (Christopher Meloni) left. I heard its been pretty good though.

Season Finales Tuesday 5/22/12

Dancing With The Stars – ABC 9/8c – Season 14 finale. Who will win the mirror ball trophy? Will it be the washed up NFL player Donald Driver? The opera singer from across the pond, Katherine Jenkins? Or the Latin playboy William Levy? Gladys Knight and Kelly Clarkson perform.
Glee – FOX 9/8c – Season 3 finale. Graduation is finally here, as McKinley High’s class of 2012 looks to the past and present, while contemplating the future.

Season Finales Wednesday 05/16/12

Suburgatory – ABC 8:30/7:30c – Season 1 finale. Tessa feels left out when the town celebrates the mothers in the community. Dalia takes off for a trip to Israel leaving Dallas all alone. Meanwhile, an endangered-animal theme at the Lerners’ baby shower draws a not so good reaction from Eden; and Fred surprises Sheila with one of her favorite performers. I love this show and I’m glad its coming back for a second season. It’s so funny. Jeremy Sisto is so great. He always takes me back to his Clueless days as Elton.

Criminal Minds – CBS 9/8c -Season 7 finale. A federal bank is under attack and the BAU is called to negotiate a hostage situation. As events unfold in real-time, tensions rise as one of the team becomes a hostage. Also, Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster) says goodbye. This is like the 3rd time she’s saying goodbye. This will be the last time though as the studio didn’t want her to leave and pursue other shows so she opted to leave. I like her and will miss her character on the show.

Interior Therapy With Jeff Lewis – BRAVO 9/8c – Season 1 finale. Jeff and Jenni find that comedian Mark Decarlo has bad taste. Jeff finally meets his match tonight. It’s gonna be two Jeff’s going at each other. This show is actually pretty good. I like his design stuff and the couples and families whose homes they fix up are pretty messed up in some form or fashion. It’s stuff.

Season Finales Sunday 5/13/12

Survivor: One World – CBS 8/7c – 2 hour season finale. The first ever all female final five battle for the Survivor crown. Someone breaks down and there are plenty of tears. A reunion follows the crowning of the winner.

Once Upon A Time – ABC 8/7c – Season 1 finale. Love this show. I need to catch up on a couple of episodes but great show. Emma and Regina have to work together to save Henry, Charming tries to escape to get to Snow White but she has already taken the poison apple from the queen.

Desperate Housewives – ABC 9/8c – 2 hour Series finale.  Eight seasons and countless deaths, divorces, affairs and secrets and the end has come for our ladies in Wisteria Lane. I watched maybe 3 out of 8 seasons of this show. It was good at one point and then just got ridiculous. It was a good run. Many shows are barely trying to survive a season let alone run for 8 years. On tonight’s finale, Trip pleads with Bree to tell him about the night of Alejandro’s murder; Gaby tries to find a way to save Bree; Susan tries to keep the sale of her house private until she can tell her friends; Katherine Mayfair (Dana Delany) returns with a job opportunity for Lynette; the women agree to take care of Mrs. McCluskey when they learn she wants to die at home; and Renee discovers that Ben has been thrown in jail.

American Dad – FOX 9:30/8:30c – Season 7 finale (How has this been on for that long?) Stan takes Steve to Mexico to help him grow up but when they are kidnapped by a drug cartel only Steve can free them.

REVENGE IS BACK. Do You Even Care Anymore??

ABC’s Revenge is back again after a 6 week hiatus. Yeah 6 weeks. Does anyone really care anymore? The way people’s attention spans go, a show can’t take that many breaks in between and expect the audience to come back to it. Luckily the show is back for the rest of the season (6 more episodes) until the finale which airs May 23rd.  If you have forgotten what has been happening check out this episode on ABC that recaps the whole season so far as well as the Huffington Post that did a nice little, if not slightly complicated roadmap to the show. Revenge is back tonight on ABC at 10/9c. Watch the promo and some sneak peeks at Episode 17, “Doubt.”

Weekly TV Wrap up

I watched a lot of great tv this past week. Here are some shows that you should give a try.

Happy Endings – This show had it’s season finale this past Wednesday and it was one of the funniest episodes of the season. I just love this show. The whole cast is just sooooo funny. If you haven’t watched this show, GET ON IT. I I don’t know how many times I have to tell you. I literally laugh out loud to every episode. Here is a clip from the finale where Jane (Eliza Coupe) finally gets asked to be in the wedding.

Between this show and New Girl, I get a pretty good ab workout from all the laughing. Speaking of…

New Girl – This past Tuesday’s episode of the show was hilarious. Everyone finds out about Cece (Hannah Simone) and Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and it is the greatest thing that could have happened. Was was dying this whole episode. There was a line by Schmidt after everyone finds out that just about killed me. He says, “I am so sorry you had to hear about it like this. But can we take a minute to celebrate me? It’s like I’m having Indian every night!” Really!!!  It’s just so funny. This is another ensemble comedy that has only gotten funnier as the season goes by. Can’t wait to see what’s up next for the gang. Watch the episode where Winston (Larmone Morris) finds out about Schmidt and Cece as well as other episodes  of New Girl on Hulu. Be sure to catch new episodes on Tuesdays at 9/8c on FOX.

Scandal – Shonda Rhimes new show that premiered this past Thursday was good. I thought the premiere was pretty solid. There were a couple of things that bothered me a little here and there like Columbus Short’s (Stomp The Yard, This Christmas, Ex-Britney Spears choreographer) acting but I can get over that because he’s nice to look at. I don’t watch any Rhimes shows currently on air just because I never really tried to. Once I missed the first season of those shows I never tried to. So I wanted to give this one a try. Kerry Washington and Tony Goldwyn make the show for me. Washington was great. She pretty much carried the show and Goldwyn, I have liked from several of his movies (The Pelican Brief, Kiss The Girls) and guest stints on stuff like The Good Wife and Law And Order: Criminal Intent. The show was a little slow but picked up and it has potential. The ratings weren’t as great as they hoped but they were solid. I look forward to watching some more. Watch new episodes Thursdays at 10/9c on ABC.

Bent – This was a show that NBC premiered 3 or 4 weeks ago with no promotion and put in a really terrible time slot with a really bad lead in. You would think that the show was something awful that they were trying to get rid of. Turns out not so. The show while not anything groundbreaking or the absolute best show on tv, was pretty solid. It starred Amanda Peete (The Whole Nine Yards, Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip) as Alex, a recently divorced woman who downsizes into a smaller house and hires Pete (David Walton; Perfect Couples, Burlesque), a free-spirited ladies man and recovering gambling addict who desperately needs this gig with Alex to jumpstart his life and prove that he is no longer a screw-up. The show got great reviews; some of the best reviews NBC had received for any of their new comedies. NBC needs to get with the fact that they are a 4th place network and publicize their shows for people to watch. I’ll stop ranting and just say check out all 6 episodes of the show on Hulu.

The Voice – It’s only season 2 of this show and something is off already. It just isn’t that good anymore. I can’t exactly pinpoint what it is but it probably could be that the singers aren’t great at all this season. I think there might be two or three good singers out of the bunch and that is sad when last season most of the voices were pretty great and that kept the show really interesting. I’m losing the victory on this one and it just might get cut from the dvr soon. Watch new episodes every Monday at 8pm/7c and Tuesday at 9pm/8c.  Here is one of the better singers Jamar Rogers from this season.

New Show: ABC’s Scandal

Be sure to check out Scandal, the new show from Grey’s Anatomy creator, Shonda Rhimes. Kerry Washington (Ray, Save The Last Dance), Columbus Short (Stomp The Yard, Death At A Funeral), and Henry Ian Cusick (24, Fringe) star in the show about heading off or eliminating scandal of the very rich, famous and powerful of Washington, D.C.  Hopefully this show will be good. Watch the premiere tonight on ABC at 10/9c after Grey’s Anatomy.

New Show: Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt 23

ABC has another new show this April called Don’t Trust The B* In Apt 23. The show is about a girl named June (Dreama Walker; Gossip Girl, The Good Wife) who moves to New York and ends up living with Chloe (Krysten Ritter; Veronica Mars, Breaking Bad, Confessions of A Shopaholic), a roommate who turns out to be sneaky and yep an untrustworthy b*. The show also stars James Van Der Beek (Dawson’s Creek, Varsity Blues, Mercy) playing an exaggerated version of himself and the best friend of Chloe.

The show premieres Wednesday, April 11 on ABC in the post Modern Family spot where Happy Endings currently resides. They has put up the first episode early on Hulu. You can check it out below.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

I watched the episode and it’s not bad but I think there is much to be desired. I’ll give it my requisite 3 episodes to try to win me over but if this is the reason that my Happy Endings is ending its season early then ABC needs to come harder with something that makes its absence actually worth it.

GCB

GCB (Good Christian B****es) is a new spring show that premiered last Sunday on ABC. It stars Kristin Chenoweth, Leslie Bibb and Annie Potts. It’s set in a suburb of Dallas,TX. If you know Dallas, then it probably reminds you of the very gated community of Highland Park where President Bush lives. Two episodes in and I like it. It’s pretty funny (mainly because of Chenoweth) but it’s just ok. The cast makes me want to watch more. I liked Chenoweth since I watched on the highly underrated ABC show, Pushing Daisies. She knows how to bring the comedy. And Leslie Bibb who is the main star of the show isn’t the greatest actress but I watch her in everything she’s been in simply because I loved her on the old WB show, Popular (Another Ryan Murphy show. I was really sad when this got cancelled). Annie Potts is also one of the reasons I watch. She is in some of my favorite things from the 80’s (Pretty In Pink, Ghostbusters I and II, & Designing Women). The other thing that makes me like this show is how they make fun of hypocritical Christians. I think the show can only get better. If they take the good things from the show and keep it going then I don’t see why this show wouldn’t be on for at least 2 seasons. The ratings haven’t been that great though so don’t get too attached people.

REVENGE IS ALL NEW TONIGHT

YESSSSSSSSSS!!!! So this off and on makes me so mad with Revenge. That is one of the reasons their ratings keep getting lower and lower each week but it is back on tonight on ABC at 10/9c. Watch the show. Tonight is the aftermath of the Fire & Ice party.  Below is a promo for tonight’s episode.

Here is also a clip of Emily VanCamp on The Ellen Show yesterday talking about the show. She’s cute. Love the yellow blazer on her.
