Holy Crap. This is the best tv news I have heard all week. Entertainment Weekly has the exclusive; Dev and Ellis are out. I don’t care either way about Dev but Ellis Ellis Ellis. Oh my gosh I can’t stand his character. EW has also confirmed that Frank and Michael are also out. Frank I’m fine with; Michael, I liked and thought he was good but oh well. Now we just have to get Leo gone and everything will be all good.

Season Finales 05/21/12: HOUSE

The end has come. The FOX series, House, will take its final bow today in a special 2 hour episode that begins at 8/7c. The first hour will be retrospective special that will look back at the show from the past 8 season and feature interviews with the series’ stars and producers, special original content and other surprises.
Then it ends with a finale that has been said will be pretty emotional for House fans. It was directed by series creator and executive producer David Shore. The premise of the episode is that while treating a drug addict patient, House begins examining his life, his future and his own personal demons. There is also expected to be a major death and plenty of returning people from the past.
Here is the promo for tonight’s episode.
Dan Harmon Out As Showrunner On Community

Dan Harmon, the creator and showrunner on NBC’s Community, was ousted out of the show he has worked on for the past 4 years. It seems like it’s not a mutual thing either as after it happened Harmon took to his Tumblr page to tell his side of the story.
Kids:
A few hours ago, I landed in Los Angeles, turned on my phone, and confirmed what you already know. Sony Pictures Television is replacing me as showrunner on Community, with two seasoned fellows that I’m sure are quite nice – actually, I have it on good authority they’re quite nice, because they once created a show and cast my good friend Jeff Davis on it, so how bad can they be.
Why’d Sony want me gone? I can’t answer that because I’ve been in as much contact with them as you have. They literally haven’t called me since the season four pickup, so their reasons for replacing me are clearly none of my business. Community is their property, I only own ten percent of it, and I kind of don’t want to hear what their complaints are because I’m sure it would hurt my feelings even more now that I’d be listening for free.
I do want to correct a couple points of spin, now that I’m free to do so:
The important one is this quote from Bob Greenblatt in which he says he’s sure I’m going to be involved somehow, something like that. That’s a misquote. I think he meant to say he’s sure cookies are yummy, because he’s never called me once in the entire duration of his employment at NBC. He didn’t call me to say he was starting to work there, he didn’t call me to say I was no longer working there and he definitely didn’t call to ask if I was going to be involved. I’m not saying it’s wrong for him to have bigger fish to fry, I’m just saying, NBC is not a credible source of All News Dan Harmon.
You may have read that I am technically “signed on,” by default, to be an executive consulting something or other – which is a relatively standard protective clause for a creator in my position. Guys like me can’t actually just be shot and left in a ditch by Skynet, we’re still allowed to have a title on the things we create and “help out,” like, I guess sharpening pencils and stuff.
However, if I actually chose to go to the office, I wouldn’t have any power there. Nobody would have to do anything I said, ever. I would be “offering” thoughts on other people’s scripts, not allowed to rewrite them, not allowed to ask anyone else to rewrite them, not allowed to say whether a single joke was funny or go near the edit bay, etc. It’s….not really the way the previous episodes got done. I was what you might call a….hands on producer. Are my….periods giving this enough….pointedness? I’m not saying you can’t make a good version of Community without me, but I am definitely saying that you can’t make my version of it unless I have the option of saying “it has to be like this or I quit” roughly 8 times a day.
The same contract also gives me the same salary and title if I spend all day masturbating and playing Prototype 2. And before you ask yourself what you would do in my situation: buy Prototype 2. It’s fucking great.
Because Prototype 2 is great, and because nobody called me, and then started hiring people to run the show, I had my assistant start packing up my office days ago. I’m sorry. I’m not saying seasons 1, 2 and 3 were my definition of perfect television, I’m just saying that whatever they’re going to do for season 4, they’re aiming to do without my help. So do not believe anyone that tells you on Monday that I quit or diminished my role so I could spend more time with my loved ones, or that I negotiated and we couldn’t come to an agreement, etc. It couldn’t be less true because, just to make this clear, literally nobody called me. Also don’t believe anyone that says I have sex with animals. And if there’s a photo of me doing it with an animal – I’m not saying one exists, I’m just saying, if one surfaces – it’s a fake. Look at the shadow. Why would it be in front of the giraffe if the sun is behind the jeep?
Where was I? Oh yeah. I’m not running Community for season 4. They replaced me. Them’s the facts.
When I was a kid, sometimes I’d run home to Mommy with a bloody nose and say, “Mom, my friends beat me up,” and my Mom would say “well then they’re not worth having as friends, are they?” At the time, I figured she was just trying to put a postive spin on having birthed an unpopular pussy. But this is, after all, the same lady that bought me my first typewriter. Then later, a Commodore 64. And later, a 300 baud modem for it. Through which I met new friends that did like me much, much more.
I’m 39, now. The friends my Mom warned me about are bigger now, and older, bloodying my nose with old world numbers, and old world tactics, like, oh, I don’t know, sending out press releases to TV Guide at 7pm on a Friday.
But my Commodore 64 is mobile now, like yours, and the modems are invisible, and the internet is the air all around us. And the good friends, the real friends, are finding each other, and connecting with each other, and my Mom is turning out to be more right than ever.
Ah, shit, I still haven’t called my fucking Mom.
Mom, Happy Mother’s Day. I got fired.
Yes, Mom. AGAIN.
This seems so shady for Sony to do this but this kind of seems to be the nature of the game when these types of things happen. I’m sure the new showrunners are going to be great and all but this being the last season of Community coming up, you’d think they’d just keep Harmon there till the end. And it doesn’t seem like he has a problem with the people he works with (except for that little dust-up with star Chevy Chase last month). They all have had nothing but wonderful things to say about him since the news broke of his departure.
Joel McHale, who plays Jeff Winger, tweeted “@danharmon you are a true genius. You gave me the role of a lifetime & three of the best years of my life. Buying #Prototype2 today.” Gillian Jacobs, Britta on the show, tweets, “I wholeheartedly agree with @joelmchale. I’m so grateful to @danharmon for my role, the show and everything else. Thank you, Dan. Thank you.” And finally Emily Cutler, a writer and producer on the show tweeted, “There is no #Community without @danharmon . Period.” I’m glad he wrote this and cleared it up because you just know they were gonna try to spin this and make it seem like he would still have a hand in the show when all he’s gonna be doing now is picking up a check.
What To Expect When You Are Expecting

I thought it was decent. I would rate it a solid B. Pretty funny. Not a fan of all the mushy oh I love being a parent blah blah blah but I expected that since I mean it’s a movie about parenting. Most unrealistic part was when Chase Crawford (who was looking really good) and Anna Kendrick characters had sex once and got pregnant and he stuck around and all of a sudden they were in love. Please. The ensemble is pretty good. One thing that was weird was Chris Rock. Something looked real off about him. His hair looked a mess. He looked like Frederick Douglass (thanks Erika). He was hilarious though as usual. What to Expect When You Are Expecting is in theaters now.

Two fitness trainers from Medina, OH hope to convince the Sharks their home gym is better since it provides nitrogen gas-pressured resistance. A young man from Trophy Club, TX asks the Sharks to invest in his age-defying products that were inspired by his older girlfriend. Also, a follow-up on Daymond and Mark’s Season 3 investment with Alashe Nelson from Miami, FL and his EZ VIP website – where you can buy VIP treatment at nightclubs and special events. Daymond introduces Alashe to Pit Bull, the international superstar who will endorse the business. This show has been done really well for ABC on Fridays so they have renewed it for a 4th season.
Who Do You Think You Are? – NBC 8/7c – Series finale. Paula Deen lost both of her parents and has a lot of gaps in her family knowledge. A visit to her aunt in Albany, Georgia, provides Paula with information that takes her back 150 years in her family’s history. As she digs deeper into her heritage she uncovers her ancestor’s political ties and his connection to a dark time in America’s history. However, Dick is one of the smartest enemies they’ve ever faced so it’s a mind game to see who can keep the upper hand. This show will seriously go on forever. They have been on the brink of cancellation forever and those Supernatural fans will not let CW do it. They rally for their show like crazy. Its been renewed for season 8.Season Finales Thursday 5/17/12 (Scandal, Awake, 30 Rock,Community, etc)
Missing – ABC 8/7c Series Finale. In the thrilling conclusion to Season One, Becca faces her own inner demons in a way she never has before in a last-ditch effort to save her son. Meanwhile, Suspect Zero tries to complete his sale. This show is actually not bad. Too bad ABC just cancelled it this past week. Hopefully it’s a good finale.

Community – NBC 8/7c & 9/8c Season 3 finale. Gilbert Lawson former right-hand man to Pierce’s father, requests a meeting with Pierce at Hawthorne Enterprises; the study group must pitch in to help save Pierce’s inheritance. The study group develops a plan to infiltrate Greendale’s Chang-controlled campus; Troy turns to the Air Conditioning Repair Annex for help.Shirley and Pierce’s disagreement over their sandwich shop leads to Jeff squaring off with Alan , his former colleague, in Greendale Summer Fun Court; Vice Dean Laybourne makes a last attempt at winning over Troy. Glad this show is coming back. Not happy about them putting it on Fridays. I mean if they wanted to kill the show just cancel it.
30 Rock – NBC 8:30/7:30c Season 6 finale. Determined to prove his marriage has survived Avery’s kidnapping unscathed, Jack asks Liz to officiate their vow renewal. Meanwhile, Criss tries to convince Liz that he’s worth sticking around for. Tracy meets with Cornel West to discuss his influence as a black celebrity.
Rules of Engagement – CBS 8:30/7:30c Season 6 finale. Jen volunteers to throw Audrey a baby shower, but puts the wrong date on the invitation. Meanwhile, Jeff takes a liking to Audrey’s maternity clothes, and Russell accomplishes great things when he decides to give up women. I don’t know how this show makes it every season. It’s like the stepchild at CBS. They move it around a lot and never bring it back on time and still it comes back and does pretty ok. They might not be so lucky this year though as CBS is still in discussions on whether to drop the show.
Grey’s Anatomy – ABC 9/8c Season 8 finale. A dangerous situation leaves the doctors fighting to stay alive while trying to save their peers; Ben and Bailey make a decision; Teddy gets a tempting offer; Richard plans a dinner for the residents. Don’t really watch the show but if you do, one of the main characters is going to die. Don’t worry it’s not Meredith or Derrick. The actors just signed on for two more years of Grey’s.
Person of Interest – CBS 9/8c Season 1 finale. When a psychologist’s number comes up, Reese must protect her from one of her patients while eluding capture by the FBI, who are closing in fast. Meanwhile, Finch receives an unwelcome visit from an old acquaintance. This episode will be good one. The Feds are coming for them and Reese’s old partner is still alive. Can’t wait. This show started off slow but now its gotten really good. And they have brought Taraji P. Henson’s character in more so I like seeing her do her thing there. It’s been picked up for a second season so yay!!!
Awake – NBC 10/9c Series finale. Detective Britten doesn’t know who to trust when the truth behind the accident begins to show itself and a high-ranking conspiracy threatens both of his realities. In a moment of frustration, Britten decides to take the law into his own hands and goes after Detective Hawkins, putting himself and Bird (Steve Harris) in the crosshairs of the conspirators. Captain Harper is instructed to clean up the mess. Later, when questioned about his partner, Detective Vega begins to have concerns about his Captain’s intentions. Sad this show didn’t make it. It started with so much potential.
The Mentalist – CBS 10/9c Season 4 finale. After another failed attempt to defeat Red John, Patrick Jane hits rock bottom, finds a lover and shoots one of his own.
Scandal – ABC 10/9c Season 1 finale. When Quinn finds herself in a tragic and compromising place, Olivia and the team rush to her side; all the while, a reluctant Cyrus must turn to Olivia when Billy Chambers makes an announcement that shakes Fitz’s presidency to its’ core. I feel like this show just started and we are already at the finale. This show gets better every flipping episode. The good thing is we’ll get to see more of the show after this because it’s been renewed for a second season.
Season Finales Wednesday 05/16/12
Suburgatory – ABC 8:30/7:30c – Season 1 finale. Tessa feels left out when the town celebrates the mothers in the community. Dalia takes off for a trip to Israel leaving Dallas all alone. Meanwhile, an endangered-animal theme at the Lerners’ baby shower draws a not so good reaction from Eden; and Fred surprises Sheila with one of her favorite performers. I love this show and I’m glad its coming back for a second season. It’s so funny. Jeremy Sisto is so great. He always takes me back to his Clueless days as Elton.

Criminal Minds – CBS 9/8c -Season 7 finale. A federal bank is under attack and the BAU is called to negotiate a hostage situation. As events unfold in real-time, tensions rise as one of the team becomes a hostage. Also, Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster) says goodbye. This is like the 3rd time she’s saying goodbye. This will be the last time though as the studio didn’t want her to leave and pursue other shows so she opted to leave. I like her and will miss her character on the show.
Interior Therapy With Jeff Lewis – BRAVO 9/8c – Season 1 finale. Jeff and Jenni find that comedian Mark Decarlo has bad taste. Jeff finally meets his match tonight. It’s gonna be two Jeff’s going at each other. This show is actually pretty good. I like his design stuff and the couples and families whose homes they fix up are pretty messed up in some form or fashion. It’s stuff.
