Upfronts 2015: CW Schedule

The CW always last on the schedule doesn’t have much coming this 2015-2016 season. They have had a pretty great year renewing everything except Hart of Dixie and The Messengers (which absolutely no one watched). They have picked up only 3 shows from their development slate, 1 for the Fall and 2 coming at midseason. I still think Super Girl (picked up for CBS) should be theirs but I’ll reserve judgment after I watch that pilot. They also moved a couple of their returning shows to new nights giving Julie Plec a night of her own with her shows, The Vampire Diaries and The Originals (which I thought should have been put together from the moment The Originals spinoff was a go but what do I know).

Cancelled: Hart of Dixie, The Messengers

*New shows are in ALL CAPS with trailers below* Continue reading Upfronts 2015: CW Schedule

Nikita – CW 8/7c – Season 2 finale. Nikita and Michael invade Division in an attempt to capture Percy. Alex and Sean get caught in a deadly gunfire battle with the U.S. Marines and Ryan must convince the President of the United States not to destroy Division until he is sure Nikita and Michael are safely out of the building, but the President is eager to end Percy’s reign. Meanwhile, Birkhoff asks Sonya for help, and Nikita corners Percy in his office, but he pulls out one final trick that may cost her the battle. YES NIKITAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Love this show. It’s just so good. It was touch and go for a second but CW has wisely saved this show and it will be back for a 3rd season.

Shark Tank – ABC 8/7c – Season 3 finale. The Sharks start a feeding frenzy for a chance to go into the residential lock business with a man from Orlando, FL who invented a way to incorporate the common key into a mobile phone. Two fitness trainers from Medina, OH hope to convince the Sharks their home gym is better since it provides nitrogen gas-pressured resistance. A young man from Trophy Club, TX asks the Sharks to invest in his age-defying products that were inspired by his older girlfriend. Also, a follow-up on Daymond and Mark’s Season 3 investment with Alashe Nelson from Miami, FL and his EZ VIP website – where you can buy VIP treatment at nightclubs and special events. Daymond introduces Alashe to Pit Bull, the international superstar who will endorse the business. This show has been done really well for ABC on Fridays so they have renewed it for a 4th season.
Who Do You Think You Are? – NBC 8/7c – Series finale. Paula Deen lost both of her parents and has a lot of gaps in her family knowledge. A visit to her aunt in Albany, Georgia, provides Paula with information that takes her back 150 years in her family’s history. Further exploration reveals a heartbreaking event that deeply impacted her ancestors during the Civil War.
Grimm – NBC 9/8c – Season 1 finale. As Nick delves deeper into his life as a Grimm, a trail of grotesque murders reignites the search for the elusive gold coins. The arrival of a mysterious woman in black  begins to get in the way of Nick and Hank’s investigation as extra precautions have to be taken to ensure their safety. Meanwhile, Nick’s ability to keep his true nature secret from Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) comes to a tipping point. Pretty decent show. It has been renewed by NBC for season 2.
Supernatural – CW 9/8c – Season 7 finale. Dean and Sam prepare for battle with Dick Roman. Dick’s in the final phase of his plan and the Winchesters must team up with Castiel, Bobby, Meg and Kevin, the prophet, to stop him. However, Dick is one of the smartest enemies they’ve ever faced so it’s a mind game to see who can keep the upper hand. This show will seriously go on forever. They have been on the brink of cancellation forever and those Supernatural fans will not let CW do it. They rally for their show like crazy. Its been renewed for season 8.

What’s On Tonight: Friday Sept 16

Fridays are usually the nights where they send shows to die a slow painful death so there really isn’t anything to watch tonight.  Next Friday are the premieres of Fringe, Blue Bloods, Supernatural and A Gifted Man so there will be plenty.
