Gone

Gone stars Amanda Seyfried in this suspense thriller about a young woman who is said to be a little unhinged after she supposedly taken from her house by a strange man and then somehow escaped. The police don’t believe her at all and think she’s crazy so much so they once put her in a mental institution.

One night her sister mysteriously disappears and she believes that the man who took her has taken her sister. It then becomes a big thing where this woman is trying to find a kidnapper and her sister and the police are looking for her because they believe her to be unstable. Basically it’s a hot mess of a movie that pissed me off because I hate when people just act stupid and when a plot makes no sense. I won’t give away anything in case someone wants to go see this movie but things just made no sense. Like how did the killer know she would take the steps she did to try to get to him? It’s just so convoluted and ridiculous. When the movie I was pretty sure I pegged from the beginning came to an end, it was the most unsatisfying thing ever.

If it had happened the way I thought it would end, I wouldn’t have been upset. It would have been predictable but at least it would have made some kind of sense. This ending that we got was just very nonsensical. Anyway clearly no one really wanted to see this movie because it came out last week and I think it’s gone (get it lol) already.

Gone is in theaters now. Check out the trailer below.

Why I’m Officially Done With The Game

So after watching this week’s episode of The Game, I’m officially fine with it. I can take a lot from shows. When they get ridiculous, I can usually stay with them a lot longer than most people can just because I’m keeping hope alive that the writers will turn it all around. That is not the case with this show. I want to say not only has it gotten really ridiculous, there is no turning back from it.

The BET show use to be a promising show on the CW. Born as a spinoff from the highly successful series, Girlfriends, it was started off great. We had a lot new faces (Coby Bell, Hosea Chanchez,Pooch Hall) and some old ones (Britney Daniel; Sweet Valley HighWhite Chicks, Wendy Raquel Robinson; The Steve Harvey Show, and Tia Mowry Hardict; Sister Sister).

The show wasn’t the greatest show but I thought it was pretty good. Then it got cancelled by the CW and I was sad to see it go but whatever. Then BET picked it up and it was definitely done. BET is so cheap. They fired most of the writers of the show and changed the production of it. All of that made for crappy storylines and even crappier acting. One of the original cast members left because they packed shooting of 13 episodes into a couple of months and they would shoot out of order to save money. How is an actor supposed to do their best work when in one scene your character is supposed to be in one place and then switch frame of mind to take an scene from the end of the season when their character is supposed to be in a different place.

After watching this week’s past episode “Keep Your Friends Close and Your Prostitute Closer,” I officially deleted the show off my series records on my DVR. Really Tasha (Wendy Raquel Robinson) so desperate for man that she keeps a prostitute on retainer; Melanie (Tia Mowry Hardict) so desperate to hold on to Derwin (Pooch Hall)she has no friends and nothing else going in her life; Malik (Hosea Chanchez)is kind of just there and the one person who actually isn’t that bad of character on the show, Jason (Coby Bell) has been MIA for like 3 episodes.

Whatever. I gave BET a chance. I should have known better. They have terrible shows and now the only thing I will watch on that channel will be the train wreck they call the BET Awards.

Oprah To Do First Interview With Houston Family

I haven’t really taken to the OWN network. The only thing I watch on the channel is Lisa Ling’s Our America. Love that show. But I will be watching Oprah’s Next Chapter, Sunday, March 11 at 9/8c for the first interview with Whitney Houston’s family; mostly for her daughter, Bobbi Kristina, to see what she has to say. Of course Oprah would get the first interview.  Who else would they have gone to? Here is a preview of the interview.

Silent House Review

Silent House stars Elizabeth Olson stars in this “horror” thriller as a young lady who finds herself sealed inside her family’s secluded lake house and trying to find her way out. She starts to panic and it turns into a very ominous scene in and around the house. The movie tries to take you on a suspense and tension filled journey by shooting it real-time in one single shot.

This movie is an average thriller with a twist that can be seen a mile away. The end is something that makes your skin crawl but if you paid attention from the beginning, you already saw it coming. It’s not really scary although there are some parts that will make you jump out of your seat. As average as this movie is, Elizabeth Olsen’s is not. She turns out a pretty good performance with what she is given to work with. I like her and hope she keeps getting more work. If you have not seen her 2011 breakout role in Martha, Marcy, May, Marlene, check it out. It’s a wonderful movie.

Silent House is in theaters this Friday.

Saturday Night Live: Disney Housewives

Lindsey Lohan hosted Saturday Night Live last night and it was not very funny at all. There were some funnies here and there but overall a weak episode. The highlight for me came in this “Real Housewives of Disney” sketch. It was pretty hilarious. Kristen Wiig as Cinderella just sooo funny. Anyway check it out below.

American Horror Story Season 2

The cast for the second season of American Horror Story (AHS) has been announced. Ryan Murphy, creator of reported AHS and Glee, told reporters at the Friday night the characters that are going to be back for the 2nd season.

Season 2 of AHS will bring back Jessica Lange (Constance), Sarah Paulson (Billy Dean the medium), Evan Peters (Tate Langdon), Lily Rabe (Nora Montgomery) and Zachary Quinto (Chad Warwick).  All of them will be playing different characters than they did in the first season. Murphy also says that there might be other characters from season 1 dropping in.

This doesn’t bode well with me for the second season. Ryan Murphy has a habit of making good to great first seasons of his shows and then completely ruining them the second season. See Glee and Nip Tuck (although season 2 of Nip Tuck, I think, was on par with the first. Season 3 is when it all went to hell). AHS wasn’t a great show but it was pretty good and I don’t like the way I have to worry about my main characters dying. It makes me not care about the show one bit. I don’t think I’ll be watching the 2nd season of this but we’ll see. I said I was done with Top Model and I’m back on that again. Sigh.

21 Jump Street

Don’t be fooled by the trailer guys. If I hadn’t seen this movie at a screening this week, I don’t think I would have gone to the theater to see this. The trailer looked like one of those movies where they put all the funny stuff in it and the rest of the movie sucks. This was not the case with 21 Jump Street. We were literally laughing the entire time.

The movie stars Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, and Ice Cube in this remake of the 90s television show that starred Johnny Depp and Holly Robinson Peete. The movie has the same premise as the show; young rookie cops go undercover in a high school as students and try to find the source of a new designer drug that kids are overdosing on.

I really liked that they knew they are a remake and that some of their jokes aren’t original and they were able to make fun of themselves. It was great. I feel like this movie is going to be a case of the audience liking this movie and critics panning it. But don’t listen to them. This movie was great and you should go see it. You’ll definitely have a good time. Also it has some pretty good eye candy 😉

REVENGE IS ALL NEW TONIGHT

YESSSSSSSSSS!!!! So this off and on makes me so mad with Revenge. That is one of the reasons their ratings keep getting lower and lower each week but it is back on tonight on ABC at 10/9c. Watch the show. Tonight is the aftermath of the Fire & Ice party.  Below is a promo for tonight’s episode.

Here is also a clip of Emily VanCamp on The Ellen Show yesterday talking about the show. She’s cute. Love the yellow blazer on her.
