Big numbers for Greenleaf. The premiere was the number two cable original of the night behind the season premiere of OWN’s The Haves And Have Nots. It’s also the second highest premiere on the year behind FX’s American Crime. This just shows that if you build it, they will come. All these networks that are gun shy about having diverse people in front and behind the camera need to wake up because there is an audience hungry for it.

‘How To Get Away With Murder’ & ‘Black-Ish’ Get Full-Season Orders At ABC
Not surprising especially since last night’s episode of Blackish went up in ratings from the 2nd week.
ABC’s Trophy Wife Cancelled
ABC has cancelled Trophy Wife along with the comedies Suburgatory, Mixology and The Neighbors. If you read my post last fall, Why Aren’t You Watching Trophy Wife?, who know how sad I am about this. This show was really funny. The best part was the character of Burt played by the Albert Tsai. He was so wonderful. In scenes with bigger stars he was a scene stealer on many occasions.
It’s definitely not a surprise that it got canceled. After series low 0.7 rating it got this past Tuesday, I knew it was done. It never got its fair shake at all. It was placed on Tuesday night in the 9 pm hour with The Goldbergs and no lead in. How did ABC expect it to survive? I will continue to carry on that if they had put The Goldbergs and Trophy Wife on Wednesday night with The Middle and Modern Family, those shows would have done way better in the ratings than they did.
Oh well, such are the ways of network television. I’ll just look forward to the rest of the unaired Trophy Wife episodes and to the future projects of all the cast members of this lovely show.
‘Breaking Bad’ Draws Record 6.4 Million Viewers Sunday
This has been nothing but amazing this year. Last night’s episode was… I don’t even have the words still for what last night’s episode was. I felt completely drained at the end and there are still 2 episodes left. If you have not checked out this show before (what are you waiting for) catch up on Netflix as all 5 seasons are on it.
