Comic-Con TV Roundup

Another San Diego Comic-Con came to an end this Sunday and it came with so much TV news and trailers. It seemed like TV was really the star of the con and for the first time overtook film at the big event. There were first looks at highly anticipated new series, teasers for upcoming seasons and news on some of our favorite long running series.  Take a look at all the trailers and enjoy.

FX’s series Legion is a new X-Men series from Marvel that had its coming out party at Comic-Com this weekend with the release of its first trailer. The series is an origin story of David Haller, who comic book fans know as the mutant Legion. The series will premiere some time in 2017.

Upfronts 2015: CW Schedule

The CW always last on the schedule doesn’t have much coming this 2015-2016 season. They have had a pretty great year renewing everything except Hart of Dixie and The Messengers (which absolutely no one watched). They have picked up only 3 shows from their development slate, 1 for the Fall and 2 coming at midseason. I still think Super Girl (picked up for CBS) should be theirs but I’ll reserve judgment after I watch that pilot. They also moved a couple of their returning shows to new nights giving Julie Plec a night of her own with her shows, The Vampire Diaries and The Originals (which I thought should have been put together from the moment The Originals spinoff was a go but what do I know).

Cancelled: Hart of Dixie, The Messengers

CW Fall 2014 New Schedule & Shows

The CW, the red headed step child of the broadcast networks, went into its upfront presentation today in the spot it has been since its inception, number 5. While their numbers might be anemic compared to the other broadcast networks as well as some cable networks, they are having their best season in three years. They have launched more successful shows in the past year than the other networks (Whose Line Is It Anyway, Arrow, Reign and The Originals). The only problems the network faces are fixing its Monday night. That day has always been a problem for them with shows going to die there. It’s amazing that Hart of Dixie has survived there for the past 3 seasons. From the looks of their new schedule, they have taken care of that Monday night problem by moving The Originals to lift the night. That will definitely help as The Originals ended its season this week on a high, beating Glee on FOX in total viewers and the 18-49 demo. Check out the new Fall 2014 schedule.  Continue reading CW Fall 2014 New Schedule & Shows
