UPDATED: 2015 Midseason TV Premieres – Dates For New And Returning Shows

Happy Holidays everyone. It’s the time of year when families have holiday decorations out and the temperature drops a little too much for my liking. It’s also the time of year when there is nothing on TV and all your favorite shows take a winter hiatus (Perfect time to catch up on stuff you haven’t seen). On the bright side, many shows are returning from hiatus or premiering as early as the first day of the new year. With that being said, I have put together a nice little guide to all the return and premiere dates of your favorite shows and soon to be favorites. The guide is will be updated when new dates are announced so be sure to come back and check on your show if it’s not there.

Dear White People

Dear White People is a satire set in the fictitious ivy, Winchester University with a majority white student body. The main characters of the film are Sam White (Tessa Thompson) – a militant black student with a radio show on campus titled “Dear White People,” Lionel Higgins (Tyler James Williams) – a black, gay student who doesn’t seem to fit in with the gays or the blacks, Troy Fletcher (Brandon P. Bell) – the big man on campus that is seen more as a token and an uncle tom to some black students and Colandrea Conners aka Coco (Teyonah Parris) – the beautiful, darker skinned beauty who tries so hard to get away from her “ghetto” roots and blend in with the other white students. The movie centers on what leads up to the highly inappropriate hip hop, ghetto fabulous themed Halloween party that wants attendees to “unleash your inner negro.” Continue reading Dear White People

NEW SHOW ALERT: SEQUESTERED

Check out the trailer for the new Crackle original series, Sequestered starring Jesse Bradford (Bring It On, Swimfan), Summer Glau (Firefly, Serenity), and Patrick Warburton (Seinfeld, Rules of Engagement). It’s about a jury sequestered in a hotel while deliberating a kidnapping/murder court case with lots of blackmail, corruption and intrigue. Danny Firmin (Bradford), a young attorney with a promising career, begins to uncover a major conspiracy behind his big case defending the alleged murderer of Governor Mark Bennett’s (Warburton) 8-year-old son. Sequestered juror Anna (Glau) is forced to choose between her beliefs and the safety of her family while deliberating the fate of a potentially innocent man. Surprising alliances form, sparking tensions and testing morals as Anna puts her life on the line to expose the conspiracy and find true justice for all involved.  It looks like it’s going to be pretty good and who doesn’t love Summer Glau. It premieres August 5th on crackle.com.

CW Fall 2014 New Schedule & Shows

The CW, the red headed step child of the broadcast networks, went into its upfront presentation today in the spot it has been since its inception, number 5. While their numbers might be anemic compared to the other broadcast networks as well as some cable networks, they are having their best season in three years. They have launched more successful shows in the past year than the other networks (Whose Line Is It Anyway, Arrow, Reign and The Originals). The only problems the network faces are fixing its Monday night. That day has always been a problem for them with shows going to die there. It’s amazing that Hart of Dixie has survived there for the past 3 seasons. From the looks of their new schedule, they have taken care of that Monday night problem by moving The Originals to lift the night. That will definitely help as The Originals ended its season this week on a high, beating Glee on FOX in total viewers and the 18-49 demo. Check out the new Fall 2014 schedule.  Continue reading CW Fall 2014 New Schedule & Shows
