8/7c – CW – The Vampire Diaires – Season 4 Premiere. Tonight’s premiere kicks off immediately where Season 3 ended. Elena awakens on the morning after the accident to find the thing she dreaded most has come true – she died with vampire blood in her system and now must go through the terrible transition to become a vampire or face certain death. Stefan promises Elena that he and Bonnie will exhaust every possible way out of the situation, but Damon is furious with his brother for letting Elena die in the first place. Bonnie pays a terrible price for her attempt to change Elena’s fate, while Damon takes out his frustration and rage on Matt. In a rare moment of empathy, Rebekah is deeply touched by Stefan and Elena’s devotion to one another. Finally, Pastor Young and the Town Council members begin rounding up the vampires and their supporters, leading to an unexpected tragedy. I am soooooo ready for this return. This is one of my favorite shows and it has been gone for entirely too long.

10/9c – TLC – Little Shop Of Gypsies – Series Premiere.  First seen on MY BIG FAT GYPSY WEDDING, British dressmaker Thelma Madine has taken gypsy and traveler women from maidenhood to matrimony with her over-the-top dresses and extravagant designs. As an ardent supporter of women’s rights, Thelma now wants to help unconventional gypsies – young women who would rather get hired than get hitched. Thelma begins to search for her 10 new trainees; once the girls are chosen, chaos ensues and Thelma must act fast before it all falls apart.

Season Finales Wednesday 5/30/12: America’s Next Top Model

America’s Next Top Model: British Invasion – CW 9/8c – Season 18 finale. As the finalists tackle a commercial and photo shoot, one model has a panic attack; after an innovative runway show, the winner is chosen. Gosh why is this show still on. Seriously? I officially stopped watching after the first episode this season. I love to watch Tyra’s crazy train but this was just a hot mess. It has been renewed for the 19th and hopefully last season and judges Nigel Barker and J’s won’t be back.

Season Finales Tuesday 05/29/12

Cougar Town – ABC 8/7c – Season 3 finale. When Grayson complains that he’s living the movie “Groundhog Day” because the gang shows up at the same time every day at Jules’ house, Jules asks for a “Groundhog Day”-themed bachelorette party so that Ellie and Laurie can explain the movie to her. Then, fed up with the lack of privacy, Grayson convinces Jules to elope to Napa but of course the cul de sac crew tags along. Love this show glad it will be back next season with a new home at TBS.

L.A Complex – CW 9/8c – Season 1 finale. Doubt this one will be back. Nick and Abby are trying to move past the casual phase of their relationship while still desperately trying to make their career dreams come true. Connor continues searching for answers but remains sad and lonely. Raquel’s  conscience gets the best of her and she starts to question all of her decisions. Meanwhile, Kal and Tariq seem to be moving in a great direction until the unthinkable happens.

16 & Pregnant – MTV 10/9c – Season 4 finale. A Texas teenager’s pregnancy is marked with tragedy. Yeah don’t watch this show. I just find nothing appealing about this show but I know many 😉 that do. To each it’s own.

Why I’m Officially Done With The Game

So after watching this week’s episode of The Game, I’m officially fine with it. I can take a lot from shows. When they get ridiculous, I can usually stay with them a lot longer than most people can just because I’m keeping hope alive that the writers will turn it all around. That is not the case with this show. I want to say not only has it gotten really ridiculous, there is no turning back from it.

The BET show use to be a promising show on the CW. Born as a spinoff from the highly successful series, Girlfriends, it was started off great. We had a lot new faces (Coby Bell, Hosea Chanchez,Pooch Hall) and some old ones (Britney Daniel; Sweet Valley HighWhite Chicks, Wendy Raquel Robinson; The Steve Harvey Show, and Tia Mowry Hardict; Sister Sister).

The show wasn’t the greatest show but I thought it was pretty good. Then it got cancelled by the CW and I was sad to see it go but whatever. Then BET picked it up and it was definitely done. BET is so cheap. They fired most of the writers of the show and changed the production of it. All of that made for crappy storylines and even crappier acting. One of the original cast members left because they packed shooting of 13 episodes into a couple of months and they would shoot out of order to save money. How is an actor supposed to do their best work when in one scene your character is supposed to be in one place and then switch frame of mind to take an scene from the end of the season when their character is supposed to be in a different place.

After watching this week’s past episode “Keep Your Friends Close and Your Prostitute Closer,” I officially deleted the show off my series records on my DVR. Really Tasha (Wendy Raquel Robinson) so desperate for man that she keeps a prostitute on retainer; Melanie (Tia Mowry Hardict) so desperate to hold on to Derwin (Pooch Hall)she has no friends and nothing else going in her life; Malik (Hosea Chanchez)is kind of just there and the one person who actually isn’t that bad of character on the show, Jason (Coby Bell) has been MIA for like 3 episodes.

Whatever. I gave BET a chance. I should have known better. They have terrible shows and now the only thing I will watch on that channel will be the train wreck they call the BET Awards.

The Vampire Diaries

I am finally catching up on season 2 of The Vampire Diaries that has been on my dvr since the season ended in May. I don’t know why I waited so long to watch because man this show is all kinds of good. Kevin Williamson (Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer) is the series co-creator and you can definitely tell. The show has some of the same humor and story telling that the Scream franchise has. I love this show. The characters are great, so is the acting and the mystery. The show fits the audience the CW is trying to attract. It has it teen angst and high school drama but still has enough grown ups where someone over the age of 21 can still enjoy it. I’m almost done with the season and just in time because season 3 starts this Thursday @8/7c on the CW.

FALL TV (Sorry DVR, Break Time Over)

Every year when September rolls around I always get excited.  Not just because it’s my birthday month but because fall tv returns. I LOVE FALL TELEVISION.  The networks roll out all their new shows that got picked up and old favorites return.  This fall there are over 127 new and returning shows starting Sept 13th from cable and the big 5 networks.    I will be watching all of the new ones for at least 3 or 4 episodes before I decide if they are any good and cut them off. How I’m going to manage that, I don’t know. Entertainment Weekly has a nice article with tips on  how to navigate the fall tv season so it’s gonna be all good.

This season there are many shows that I’m looking forward to, both new and returning, but I have managed to narrow down the list to 10 (5 returning and 5 new) that I think everyone should watch.
