She gave the teaser for this last week after she released her “Countdown” video and now the finished product has been released. Here it is. “Love On Top.” Enjoy.
I like this video. Its got that 90’s R&B group feel from this video. Very New Edition. People are already saying she stole from them and did she get permission. Why does she have to get their permission to emulate something? You see in this one she wasn’t that far along because she’s dancing a whole hell of a lot more than she did in the “Countdown” video. The video is very simple. Nothing special really. Love the outfits. This chick’s body does not quit. Just ridiculous.
So I’ve never watched this show but I decided to give it a try this season.Man soooo good. Its basically a travel competition reality show. This season they are allover Indonesia, and Thailand. Soooo gorgeous. They go to these different countries and they go to all these temples and villages and they tell you about the culture. This is a show I would soooo be on.Get to go to really cool places trying to win a million dollars. The show is hosted by Phil Keoghan and it airs Sundays at 8/7c on CBS.
Here is a little bit of the first episode from this season
YES!!! ABC has given a full season pick ups to Revenge and Suburgatory. I love both of these shows. Revenge is just a great soap a la Desperate Housewives when that show was still good. Emily VanCamp is great. The story is also really good. It just keeps moving and hooks you from the beginning. It answers questions but also leaves you guessing and wanting more. Suburgatory is also a great show. It’s on ABC’s wonderful Wednesday comedy block with The Middle, Modern Family, and Happy Endings. The cast of this show is hilarious. Its quirky, funny, and so witty. This was pretty much a no brainer for ABC. Revenge has been consistently beating CBS’ former powerhouse, CSI, in their time slot and Suburgatory debuted to pretty decent ratings and has kept those viewers. If you haven’t watched any of these shows, get on it. They really are quite good.
ABC was in another good mood when they ordered more scripts for Happy Endings. It doesn’t mean the show has been picked up for the season but it bodes well for the series. Hopefully it does get picked up because the show is pretty funny. Pretty much everything on ABC on Wednesdays is good. Just watch the whole lineup.
Tracie Ellis Ross (Girlfriends) and Malcolm Jamal Warner (Cosby Show) return to tv tonight with the premiere of their new show Reed Between The Lines. The two play a married professional couple with 3 kids and the ins and outs of them trying to raise a family with busy careers. I want to get excited for this show because this type of show is severely lacking on television with African-American leads but it’s on BET and unfortunately for me that has become synonymous with trash. There is nothing good on that channel. Even The Game which I liked when it was on the CW, got worse when it moved to BET. So right now I can only hope that they have some good enough writers and that they act their butts off so that this show is wonderful. It premieres tonight at 10/9c on BET. Check out a sneak peek of the show.
Another day another accusation about Beyonce stealing something. Belgian choreographer, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker is accusing Beyonce of plagiarizing her dance moves for her latest video “Countdown.”
The choreographer has come out against Beyonce saying “I didn’t know anything about this. I’m not mad, but this is plagiarism,” she said. “This is stealing. They took pieces from Achterland and Rosas danst Rosas. It’s a bit rude, I must say. What’s rude about it is that they don’t even bother about hiding it. They seem to think they could do it because it’s a famous work.” People have commented that she should feel flattered that Beyonce would want to emulate her work. This is the 3rd time this year Beyonce has been accused of stealing dance moves or performances from others. The first when she premiered her “Run The World (Girls)” video and the second would be when she did her “Run The World (Girls)” performance at the Billboard Awards earlier this year. I think its stupid to think any artists is coming up with anything original. Everyone draws inspiration from somewhere. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Everyone has awkward moments, whether they are with your parents, strangers or coworkers. Most of us are glad that these moments are not captured on tape but Issa Rae’s Awkward Black Girl series essentially does that. The talented writer, director and star of the series, Issa Rae, has taken our most awkward moments and made them into this wonderful little series that can only be described as a mix of Parks and Recreation meets Curb Your Enthusiasm with some sprinkles of Daria (if Daria was a grown black woman who worked in an office setting).
I was introduced to the series by a great friend of mine (thanks Schuyler) and have been hooked ever since. Watching the series is like someone followed you around with a camera and filmed different parts of your life. i was surprised when while watching I kept yelling to myself, “OMG that happened to me.” If you can’t relate to all the scenarios that occur, the show is funny. It has great writing and a good cast and the score is always great. New episodes premiere every first Thursday of the month (Episode 9 premiered today). Check out Episode One below and for all the other episodes check out their website http://awkwardblackgirl.com/

Footloose is another wonderful remake that Hollywood is blessing us with this year. It stars former Justin Timberlake back up dancer Kenny Wormald and former Dancing With the Stars pro Julianne Hough. The movie is about a kid from Boston (Kenny Wormald) who moves to a small town in Georgia called Bomont, where loud music and dancing has been outlawed. He comes and rebels against the town authority and tries to gain his right to dance. Hahahahahahah omg I just burst out laughing typing that last sentence. The movie sounds so ridiculous and it is. I can’t say if this version was better than the 1984 original with Kevin Bacon because I barely remember it but I’m sure the original was better because what I watched was awful. The acting, the dancing ughh AWFUL. My gosh why is Julianne Hough trying to be an actress. She’s not good. There were supposed to be some tearful and emotional scenes happening and she couldn’t even cry in them. I mean I just think if you are going to be an actress, one of the basic skills you have to master is crying when the scene calls for it. I mean use an onion to get the tears going or something. Even if Hough could master that she still wouldn’t be a good actress. Dennis Quaid also stars in the movie playing Julianne Hough’s preacher father and the main reason dancing is banned from Bomont. I have been reading the reviews for this movie and they are all saying how great and wonderful it is and I just don’t get it at all. At first I thought well maybe I need to watch it again to see if I am wrong but I just can’t see putting myself through that torture for a second time so my original opinion stays. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!! If you do want to see for yourself, Footloose hits theaters Friday 10/14.
George Clooney’s 4th directorial effort brings him together with “it” guy of the year,Ryan Gosling. The political thriller also stars Phillip Seymour Hoffman,Marissa Tomei,Paul Giamatti and Evan Rachel Wood. The movie is about the last days of a Ohio democratic presidential primary.Ryan Gosling plays Stephen Myers,a junior campaign manager for Mike Morris (George Clooney) who inadvertently gets involved in a political scandal that threatens his candidate’s chances for president. This movie was a good one.Clooney is a pretty good director. All his movies have the same sort of feel to them and they become recognizable when you have watched a couple. This one reminds me of one of his other movies, Good Night, and Good Luck.Ides wasn’t anything groundbreaking or whatever but it was a solid movie. The acting was good, story was done well,I would recommend it.We all know politics is shady but the movie just kind of made you sad to see just how shady it is and how someone can go into it innocent and with idealistic beliefs and end up having to sell their soul. The question is just how much of your soul are you willing to sell?Ides of March is in theaters now.
