Thanksgiving Marathons To Feast On

Thanksgiving. The time for family, food and endless amounts of television. I love Thanksgiving because as I come down from my food coma, I can unwind on the couch and watch any one of the zillion marathons that run that weekend. Here are some that might whet your appetite.

Awkward – MTV – Friday 9am – 10pm. MTV is going to run both seasons of this hilarious show.

James Bond Movie Marathon – Syfy – Midnight Thursday – 5:30am Saturday. They do this marathon every year and I always catch at least 3 Bond movies during this time. Love them.

Beverly Hills 90210 – SoapNet – Friday 8pm – 1am. This 5 hour marathon is going to focus on the roller coaster  that was  Kelly and Dylan’s relationship, starting with the episode where Kelly and Dylan hooked up while Brenda was away in Paris.

Friday Night Lights – ESPN Classic – Friday 1 – 11pm. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! Anyone who reads even a bit of this blog knows I STAN HARD for this show. ESPN is airing Season 5, the last season, of the show. Clear Eyes. Full Hearts. Can’t Loose.

Castle – TNT – Thursday 10am – 11pm. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!! TNT just started airing Castle in syndication and they are doing a nice marathon of season 2. This is a great opportunity to check out some of the early Caskett (Castle & Beckett) tension and what makes this show so much fun to watch.

Breaking Amish – TLC – Thursday 11am-9pm. Never watched this show but I heard it’s good so marathon here I come.

General Hospital – SoapNet – Thursday 7pm-12am. SoapNet is calling their 5 hour marathon “Quartermania.” They will be airing Thanksgiving episodes that center on those crazy Quartermaines. This will be a nice way to look back at the better years of the show.

Oprah’s Next Chapter – OWN – Sunday 2-10pm. Eight episodes of Next Chapter featuring Stephen Colbert (The Colbert Report), Kelsey Grammer (Boss), Usher, Fergie, Lady Gaga and Jennifer Hudson before the new episode with Justin Bieber at 9pm/8c.

The First 48 – A&E – Thursday 3pm – Friday 4am. If you really want to waste the day away put on an episode of this gem and you will never leave the couch. I always have to cautious with this show because before I know it I’ve been sucked in.

Law & Order: SVU – USA – Saturday 12pm – 2am. No weekend is complete without an SVU marathon.  They usually run this for a couple of hours on Sundays but this weekend they start a day early. Be sure to catch-all the old Benson and Stabler episodes.

Fringe – Science – Friday 9:30am – Saturday 3am; Saturday 10am – Sunday 3am. With this show ending its run on FOX this January, relive all the memorable moments from the beginning of the series. I am going to be all over this one.

For the full list of  marathons check out TVLine or Watching Way Too Much.

Watch To Watch: September 28

8/7c – CBS – CSI:NY – Season 9 Premiere. The CSIs investigate when a fire chief – a friend of Mac’s – is killed in a blaze that used the same technique as a recently paroled arsonist.

9/8c – FOX – Fringe – 5th and Final Season Premiere. The premiere picks up from the events of last season’s finale in which the year is 2036 and the overpowering Observers rule. The Fringe team – preserved in amber for 20 years – is now a rebel resistance team fighting for freedom. Peter, reunited with his now adult daughter, Etta, sets out to find out what happened to Olivia as they start their mission to save the world from the Observers in the “Transilience Thought Unifier Model-11.”

9/8c – CBS – Made In Jersey – Series Premiere. After voicing her opinion in a company staff meeting, Martina makes a good impression on her boss, Donovan Stark, who assigns her third chair on a murder case involving a student accused of killing her professor. Meanwhile, at home, Martina’s niece comes to her to help convince her mother to allow her to get a tattoo. My man, Kristoffer Polaha, is this show so of course I’ll be watching. Here is hoping 3rd time is the charm because all his shows get cancelled 😦  RIP Life Unexpected and Ringer

10/9c – CBS – Blue Bloods – Season 3 Premiere. A dangerous criminal from Danny’s past comes back to seek revenge and kidnaps Jackie. Jamie meets his new partner and a young officer is shaken after he accidentally shoots an innocent man.

Season Finales: Friday 5/11/12

It’s the weekend. YAY!!!!! What are you doing tonight? How about checking out these season finales.

The Finder – FOX 8/7c – Season 1 finale This show is a goner. I don’t know anyone that watched this show. I like Michael Clark Duncan and I wanted this show to be good but it just isn’t. On tonight series finale, Walter’s dad is dying and his older brother asks him to visit. As his final wish, his father wants Walter to find their mother. Uncle Shardrick continues to force marriage on Timo and Willa.

Undercover Boss – CBS 8/7c – The CEO of MasTec, Jose Mas goes under cover at his infrastructure-construction company.

Fringe – FOX 9/8c – Yay this was renewed for a 5th and final season. The team has to figure out a way to stop a catastrophic event that would cause death and destruction. I wonder how they are gonna set it up for next season. Can’t wait its gonna be great.

CSI:NY – CBS 9/8c – Season/Series finale.  Ratings for this show have been going down and this may be the possible end if CBS decides to cut this loose. On tonight’s finale, Mac is shot and has to fight for his life while the team goes after the shooter.

Blue Bloods – CBS 10/9c – This season has been just off. It’s a good show but they just drop story lines for too long and then randomly pick them up. This season ends with Frank trying to stop a biological weapon from being spread in the city all while keeping it a secret from his family. With everything that is happening, Danny and Jamie’s conflict from earlier in the season comes to a head.

What’s On Tonight: Friday Sept 16

Fridays are usually the nights where they send shows to die a slow painful death so there really isn’t anything to watch tonight.  Next Friday are the premieres of Fringe, Blue Bloods, Supernatural and A Gifted Man so there will be plenty.
